In Sanskrit, the word Shanti means “Peace”. It is usually chanted 3 times at the end of a yoga class as “Om shanti, shanti, shanti” as a call for universal peace.

In the Buddhist practice, Shanti refers to the peace that can be found within our self as opposed to looking for peace outside of our physical body.
